STUDENTS’ NEED ASSESSMENT OF ST TERESA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, THAILAND 2024

Result and Findings

This is a students’ need assessment report of St Teresa International University, Thailand 2024 academic year. It is a student needs assessment divided into two categories as demonstrated in the tables below: 

1. The school facilities and the environment needs of the students

2.The emotional needs of the students

 The instrument for data collection is the use of the questionnaire. The questionnaire strictly submitted by hand for the respondents to respond.  The questionnaire is made for the responses of the old and new students. It contains 80 questions in all.

Out of 45 sample size for this survey there are only 36 respondents used in this survey due to availability of the respondents as at the time of administering the questionnaire. They were selected to answer the questionnaire handed to them. The survey questionnaire contains 80 questions in connection with the objectives set in this assessment:

Table 2 (  ) it shows that the provision of school facilities and the environmental needs of the students in overall was at the highest level ( = 4.56). The list are:  Proper area for counseling and Thoroughly disseminate information which are(  =4.17) respectively, the highest is Safety system in the dormitory (   = 4.90). In other words, the school is well equipped and the environment is safe for students to learn. Other services in the school are good for students.

From this table, it shows that the overall emotional needs responses outcome of the students is at the agree level ( =2.2). The students’ opinion towards Personal need, School concern, counselors’ effect and State influence are on agreed level except Personal concern which is neutral.

 

 Summary

           This survey explores the students’ need assessment report of St Teresa International University, Thailand 2024 academic year. It is divided into two categories: the school facilities and the environment needs of the students; and the emotional needs of the students.

            This survey shows that the respondents’ opinions towards the school facilities and its environment in overall was at the highest level (=4.56). The provision of school facilities and the environmental needs of the students in overall was at the highest level ( = 4.56). The list are:  Proper area for counseling and Thoroughly disseminate information which are(  =4.17) respectively, the highest is Safety system in the dormitory (   = 4.90). In other words, the school is well equipped and the environment is safe for students to learn. Other services in the school are good for students.

The students are satisfied with the school Library, Facilities and safety, Student accommodation, Advisory service, Information service, Academic and career, and other services are high, educational facility, Physical and environment Landscape of the college are moderate which is a proof that the school is not lagging behind in provision of facilities and services nor is the school badly located.

On the other hand, the survey shows that the overall emotional responses outcome of the students is at the agree level (=2.2).

 Discussion

          The respondents are the students of St Teresa International University, Thailand 2024 academic year. They were selected to do the survey questionnaire provided to them. The survey questionnaire was made up of 80 questions.

           The research found that the Respondents’ opinions towards the school facilities and its environment in overall was at the highest level. The students are satisfied with the school Library, Facilities and safety, Student accommodation, Advisory service, Information service, Academic and career, and other services are high and highest respectively, Educational facility, Physical and environment, and Landscape of college are moderate which is a proof that the school is not lagging behind in provision of facilities and services nor is the school badly located.

           The research result further shows that the emotional responses outcome of the students is at overall Agreed level (=2.2). The students’ opinion towards Personal need, Personal concern, School concern, counselors’ effect and State influence are on agreed level.
